To start off this post, I would like to tell you a little about my cut. Not too long ago, I decided to chop off all my split ends, ending up with a blunt cut. Therefore I pretty much have no layers in my hair, which really isn’t ideal for hair curling (but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done). For those with proper layers through their hair, there would absolutely be no problem in getting defined curls with great volume. Once you get used to curling, the whole process really just takes about 10 minutes.
Note: I am left-handed, so lets hope the following instructions won’t confuse any right-handers out there!
Step 1: Protect hair from heat

Step 1.5 (Optional): Apply thickening serum for fuller looking hair

Step 2: Split hair in half and keep fringe separate
Having long hair makes it more clumsier to curl, strands are longer and in general just more hair! It is easy to miss strands if hair is not at least sectioned in half. Say no to random straight strands of hair!

Step 3: Curl left section of hair
As we all have said, always curl outwards! It helps frame the face and also creates a very glamorous, sexy look. Take a small section of hair and make sure the clip is at the bottom. Starting from the middle section, twirl your hair once around the curling iron and slowly (+smoothly) drag this all the way to the bottom. Once you get to the ends, roll the iron all the way to where you started (or higher). Hold for 5-10 seconds then let go. Continue until left side is all curled.

Step 4: Curl right section of hair
The technique is exactly the same as step 3, however notice that the clip is at the top this time.

Step 5: Curl fringe
What you are aiming for here, are bangs that will curl softly away from your face. Pull your fringe upwards, and taking your iron with the clip in front, take the iron to the end of the strands and curl backwards. Curl it for half a rotation. What we want here is a curve of the ends not a curl.
