Being a girl, of course, I have a thing for cosmetics. I have been semi-obsessed (especially) with Japanese cosmetics ever since I was in high school.
Now, being permanently back in Thailand, the cosmetic section in Watsons is probably one of my favourite places to browse through. They carry several Japanese cosmetic brands such as Kate, Canmake and Majolica Majorca. Anywho, since I’ve been back I have tried a couple of new items in combination with my trusty old ones. Here are some of what’s inside my make up bag.

Maybelline concealer, KORRES NATURAL PRODUCTS Watermelon Lightweight Tinted Moisturiser, Chanel powder, MAC blush in Breath Of Plum, U Star and Pop liquid eyeliners
I’m going to start with my favourite product of all - the tinted moisturiser. I was recommended by the girls at Kit Cosmetics this heavenly smelling thing, I have been in love with it ever since. It gives a good coverage and make my skin glowy. Plus, it comes with the good ol’ SPF30 which is a must for me.
This MAC blush was something my mum’s impulse buy which was handed to me afterwards. I have been wearing it everyday since. For those with a slight tan, this will do wonders to your skin. I get compliments all the time on this blush colour because of the natural flushed look.
And the most important aspect of my make up routine - EYES. Choosing the right eyeliners is super important for me as I inherited the difficult Asian eyes. Most products smudge on my eyes, even waterproof ones! And so I’ve moved on from eye pencils as I have concluded that it was impossible to use them and not look like a panda at the end of the day. For those in Thailand, I highly recommend U Star Zignature liquid eyeliner. It was my emergency pick-up on the go at 7-Eleven but it turns out to be an awesome product and for a price tag less than 200 baht!

Maybelline the Magnum Volum Express mascara, Canmake Gokunobi mascara
I’m giving myself a break from my all-time favourite mascara from Dejavu and been experimenting with a few others. I find that with mascaras, the Japanese brands do it best. As I said, I usually go for Dejavu as they never ever smudge and are ridiculously easy to take off (with warm water). The brush is also really good so your eyelashes don’t end up clumpy. Canmake’s Gokunobi is fairly similar but with a cuter packaging (and I’m all for cute packaging!).

Too Faced Teddy Bear Hair brush, Mistine Cateye liquid eyeliner, Dejavu liquid eyeliner, NARS lip crayon and lipstick in Heatwave, MAC eyeshadow in Dark Edge, eyelash curler
If there was one thing that could save my hungover face, it’s bright bold lipsticks. My favourite is NARS. The lip crayon is probably better in the way that it stays on for hours even after you eat. But the fact that you have to sharpen it is a pain in the arse.
And here are some of the new stuff I’ve been trying on my skin.
Biore has pretty good products for those with oily skin type. The Biore UV Tint Milk works really well as foundation. It’s super light weight and has the SPF30. I also got the Biore UV Aqua Rich for days when I don’t feel like wearing make up. It provides next to zero coverage, I only use it for the SPF50. Nivea Sun is good as sunblock and make up base. The colour is fairly white so I always go over it with press powder that matches my skin tone.
So, that’s it for my make up bag. If our readers have any product recommendations, we would love to hear it. Shoot us an e-mail. Or is it time for an SGS facebook group?
